Tripping circuits and dead sockets, diagnosed properly

Fault Finding & Repairs

Fuse box tripping every time you put the kettle on? Half the sockets gone dead? Resetting it and hoping is tempting. The right answer is proper testing that tracks the fault to the exact circuit, fitting or cable causing it.

We test with calibrated equipment, make anything dangerous safe straight away and explain what we have found in plain English, with a fixed price to fix it. Most faults are found and fixed in one visit, and the repair is certified so you have it on record.

Fault finding questions, answered

How much does fault finding cost?

Describe the fault on the phone and we will give you an honest idea, then confirm the price before we start. No diagnosis, no charge surprises.

Why does my fuse box keep tripping?

Usually a faulty appliance, moisture in an outside fitting or a damaged cable. We test circuit by circuit to find exactly which, rather than guessing. That tripping switch (the RCD) is doing its job.

Half my sockets have stopped working. Is that serious?

It is usually a broken connection on one circuit, and very fixable. Loose connections make heat though, so do not leave it. We can normally trace and repair it in one visit.

How quickly can you get to me?

We keep space in the diary for faults and urgent jobs, and anything that sounds dangerous goes first. Call and we will give you an honest arrival time.
