Gloucester homes and their wiring
Most of the terraces in Barton and Tredworth went up between the 1820s and the 1880s. Falkner Street, Melbourne Street and Ryecroft Street all date from this time. Many of these houses were rewired decades ago. Some still have old fuse boards or too few sockets for how we live now.
Longlevens grew from the 1880s. The Wellsprings estate there was built in the 1930s. Houses of that age often need a new consumer unit. Some need a full rewire.
At the Docks, Victorian grain warehouses are now homes. Albert Warehouse was built in 1851 and now holds 28 flats. These are listed buildings, so new cables must be run with care.
Kingsway is built on the old RAF Quedgeley site. Work there began in 2006. Hunts Grove at Hardwicke came later. These homes already have modern boards. The work there is mostly extra sockets, garden power and EV chargers.
